Kathleen Culebro, VSA-CPT, is the founder of Kat and the Hound Dog Training and Grooming. Her career began in theatre as a playwright and producer, but everything changed when she adopted Alejandro—a deaf and reactive dog from a hoarding situation. Inspired to help him, she immersed herself in learning about canine behavior, body language, and force-free training.

Kathleen earned her professional certification from the Victoria Stilwell Academy and Michael Shikashio’s renowned Aggression in Dogs program, graduated from the Texas Grooming School, and became a certified Fear Free Professional. She is also a member of the Pet Professionals Guild. As a trainer, Kathleen specializes in working with special needs, nervous and reactive dogs. In her work as a groomer, she focuses on senior, sensitive, and nervous pets, providing in-home gentle grooming to minimize stress. In addition to working with private clients, Kathleen is proud to be on staff as a behaviorist at the Humane Society of North Texas. 

In addition to training, grooming, and dog sitting, she offers an intensive training plan, which is her alternative to the traditional “board and train,” and does not require pups to leave their beloved humans and live in kennels. Space is extremely limited.
